We all know Trump is a terrible human being.
One who lies, cheats and manipulates with an ease that only someone who has acted that way all their life could pull off.
But just when you thought you had seen the worst of him, he reveals a new low.
COVID-19 has been the ignition for this.
One of the things I’ve found fascinating about this virus is how Trump and his media organisations have switched from claiming it’s nothing but a hyped-up agenda – designed by people intent of damaging them – to wanting to position themselves as the heroes, who are not only protecting the people, but are hell bent on finding a cure.
While that is obviously bollocks, even if people did believe it, there is one fact that should make them question what’s being said …
More proof that sadly, a lot of politics – especially in the US and UK – has little to do with protecting the people, but protecting the politicians position and power as well as the corporations who support them.

You wrote this a while back didn’t you Rob?
Gun sales have gone through the roof and now Trump is inciting a revolution, there’s going to be even more carnage. What a time to be alive.
Comment by Bazza April 20, 2020 @ 6:48 amI did. And yet it doesn’t matter about the numbers … the argument is the same.
Guns = good.
Corona = bad.
Though, Trump seems to be repositioning corona as being ‘an inconvenience’ and is happy for people to ignore the basic rules to increase the chances of life to keep the economy moving and hopefully secure his re-election.
The sad thing is he was going to get re-elected before corona and somehow, he will do it again … because he’s made a huge amount of Americans only believe what he says. In any other nation, that would be a dangerous dictator … but in the land of the free, it’s a person making America great again. Even though it should be spelt …
g-r-a-t-e.
Comment by Rob April 20, 2020 @ 8:07 amI know this is the resigned view of many of my American friends but I can’t see it. November’s a long way off.
Comment by John April 20, 2020 @ 10:54 amthe fucker will make it dodds. he hasnt got an opposition that can make him sweat except his own fuckedupness.
Comment by andy@cynic April 20, 2020 @ 12:33 pmOne of the things I miss most about England is that people want to protect the NHS where here it is about the right to own guns. I am very nervous what is going to happen to America in the next few weeks. Our president refuses to acknowledge the guidance of experts, because he feels that would undermine his ability to take the credit. Meanwhile he is forcing states to challenge each other and people to challenge the state leadership. He may end up being the first president to separate the states rather than unite them.
Comment by George April 20, 2020 @ 7:03 amWhen gun crime soars, which I am sadly confident it will, it will be blamed on the restrictive practices of state governments, specifically democrats. Making corona political and making any form of socialism even more feared by republicans.
Comment by George April 20, 2020 @ 7:06 amDidn’t they have to close some gun stores in California because the queues to buy guns was getting ridiculous?
California! The most liberal state in America.
Mindblowing.
Comment by Rob April 20, 2020 @ 8:08 amNot just California, but they had a record breaking week for sales in March.
Comment by George April 20, 2020 @ 8:20 amDo you know the TV show gogglebox? It’s where they watch people watching TV. Anyway, it’s not as bad as I’ve just made it sound.
They just showed the reaction to Boris coming back after his near death experience and they all said it’s tragic that the only way he got to appreciate the value of the NHS was needing them to save his life when everyone else has known their value for decades.
So true.
I’ll be fascinated to see how funding for the NHS goes now, given the conservatives have been underfunding it for years.
Comment by Rob April 20, 2020 @ 8:10 amI’ve seen gogglebox and loved it. I think the US version is called “the people’s couch” here. I watched an episode a few years ago and it was terrible.
Comment by George April 20, 2020 @ 8:24 amyou sad fucks.
Comment by andy@cynic April 20, 2020 @ 12:34 pmA considered critique.
Comment by George April 20, 2020 @ 1:05 pmIt’s a higher standard of TV than I thought Rob would ever reach.
Comment by Bazza April 20, 2020 @ 1:58 pmTo be fair to Trump, he wasn’t calling covid-19 anything except “other countries problems” until it was too late.
Comment by Pete April 20, 2020 @ 7:09 amNot sure my sarcasm came through on my previous comment. So to avoid the abuse, I was being sarcastic.
