Given I won’t be blogging for the next couple of days [bar a daily ‘interesting rating’] I thought I’d upload one of the articles I wrote for MTV which …
1 I’ve been banging on about for ages

As you will hopefully be able to tell, its rather tongue-in-cheek … though the comments I make about Chris Martin – and his bloody wife – aren’t, ha!

Remember those presentations I spent so long pontificating about recently?
Well for the next 2 days – inbetween a plethora of speakers – I’m going to be stuck in a corporate hotel board room, presenting them to a bunch of people who probably would rather be somewhere else.
And you know what … I don’t blame them because I’d rather be somewhere else too.
Billy’s bored and he’s not even going!
That’s not because I don’t like what I’ve written – I do – it’s because the conference is about a subject matter that …
1 While the concept is pretty interesting, it is not … in my opinion … as genius as everyone keeps thinking [or telling everyone] it is
2 Is happy to ignore the issues that I believe are critical to achieve what they want [By this, I mean the conference is ignoring them, not the philosophy]
You see I just can’t present something I don’t believe in which is why I took so bloody long to write the soddin’ things.
OK so I pontificated abit … but the real issue was trying to find a way where I wouldn’t feel mentally and morally ‘violated’ whilst also keeping the conference organisers from thinking I’d [totally] fucked them over.
I think I have succeeded, I’ll let you know on Thursday, haha!

And if you are wondering WHY I would present at a conference I am not totally enamoured with – all I will say is that at some point in our lives, we all have to pay the piper, ha! [Are your ears are burning Chris, Andy and George! 🙂 ]

Thank-the-Lord it’s all over and normality can return to my [working] life – as will hopefully be demonstrated by tomorrow’s post.
To be fair it was no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be – but I still had to keep banging on how theory means nothing unless you actually do something about it interms of the output you create.
I hope the message gets through [especially to ‘senior people’] because otherwise the whole thing will be in vain and the staff [not to mention the public] ultimately lose out.
