*groan* rob! that is more shocking than anything either andy or i have ever said… are you sure you’re not a dad?

Many years ago when I worked with Rob in London we were working on a project with Pedigree Chum.

One day he decided to call up the accounts department and scream the “retriever” joke down the phone to them then he hung up and went to lunch.

It speaks volumes about accountants that they didn’t see the (bad) joke and rang Pedigree to ensure their outstanding invoices were going to be paid.

As rumor has it, there was a period of 10 minutes where each side were throwing insults at eachother until the misundestanding was cleared up to which Robert was then called into our bosses office and screamed at for half an hour.

The joke is bad enough on a good day so it must of gone down like a lead balloon when he had to tell it to our hostile boss and I think he even got one of his numerous written warnings for it which goes to show his jokes haven’t improved but his professionalism has.

Thank you Pete for that blast from my past … and Andy for that sign of deep friendship.
