The Musings Of An Opinionated Sod [Help Me Grow!]

Temptation In A Picture …

All I know about this picture is it was taken by a friend of mine because it appeared on my Facebook feed.

Except I can’t remember which friend.

But I love it.

I love the colour of the drink.

The way the hand is perfectly placed and poised.

The reflection on the tray … unable to stop the burnt orange colour shining on the tray but looking like it is exploding out of the centre.

I love the way the seat and the walls of the plane seem to have the same type of look and feel.

Warm. Fabric. Like a favourite jumper at winter.

I love the clouds poking out of the window.

I love that as the person flies through the sky at hundreds of miles per hour, it looks like they’re preparing to relax as if they’re going at 5 miles per hour.

I don’t drink any alcohol, but that plastic glass looks mighty tempting …

I imagine that if I put it to my lips, I’d experience a strong, rich orange flavour that is ice cold and utterly refreshing.

A drink you’d sip because of it’s intensity and desire to make it last longer.

That photo makes me want to drink that glass.

That’s a better ad than most I see these days.

But it’s not an ad.

A photo that turns you from a teetotaller into a wannabe alcoholic is more than an ad. It’s a miracle.

Do you remember his warm milk from starbucks phase? Worst ever.

Comment by DH

“I want a venti latte. Hold the coffee.” I used to put it down to British eccentricity. Now I know it was just Rob and his weird phases.

Comment by Bazza

do you want me to pound some south african cliche shit in your face?

Comment by andy@cynic

For the record, my ‘milk phase’ was because of my illness … it was not because I suddenly wanted to recapture my toddler years. It kind of disturbs me you don’t know that. Or forgot that. Or are just being dicks.

Comment by Rob

Having a headache is not an illness Rob. I have one every morning after a night on the piss.

Advertising – where people who don’t use the product explain how to reach people who do.

Comment by John

not advertising. planning.

Comment by andy@cynic

Well of course you should use the product, but sometimes you can’t and so you find people who do and ask them questions about it and about how it affects them. If I can only work on products I actually use, I’m going to be screwed … at least in the sense of using them as they were intended.

Comment by Rob

Just remembered there was something else that got close to breaking my 31 years of alcohol denial. In fact, it got even closer than this because I actually bought the product.

Was it not Ben Malbon’s FB profile photo for a time?

Comment by amanda

Was it? He’s not my Facebook friend so I don’t think so … but who knows. I obviously don’t. Ha.

Comment by Rob

I’m not fooled. The attraction of the drink is that it’s somebody else’s and therefore another freebie.

Discovered who it was. My Russian friend Larissa.
Ahhhhhhhh.

Comment by Rob

And then she told me she stole it from the internet. Damnit.

Still a beautiful photography wherever it may have come from!
