Recent “news” suggests George Clooney – a man various tabloids have dubbed the ‘Sexiest Man In The World’ – dumped his rather hot girlfriend, Sarah Larson, because she apparently ignored his advice and had her breasts surgically enhanced.
Putting aside the fact that no one really gives a shit [except the Hello, Heat and NW brigade] – this does open up a rather interesting debate.
Given George Clooney ended a relationship because his woman ‘didn’t follow orders’ [regardless what those ‘orders’ were … which in this case was the quite mad decision to NOT want his girlfriend to look better naked ๐] should he now be referred to as the ‘Sexist Man In The World’ or the ‘Stupidest Man In The World’?
Hell, should we [the entire male population] even consider George ‘a man’ at all??
How easily a carefully crafted brand image can be destroyed – but unlike other ‘Fuck Up Fairies’ victims like Gerald Ratner and Barclay’s Matt Barrett , Clooney is a multi-millionaire, Hollywood film star and heart throb so I’m sure he’ll survive.
The lucky, lucky bastard!
[Good news guys, Sarah is considering showing off her new investment in Playboy. Who said clichรฉ career move?!]

its a fine line between sexy and sexism but money and fame makes sure you never stray on the wrong side of the street. thats fucking deep isnt it.
what a twat clooney is but its not like his bed will be fucking cold for long.
Comment by andy@cynic June 18, 2008 @ 8:19 ami know this is going to be no surprise to anyone, but i’m glad he dumped her for those reasons. I don’t see it as her ‘not taking orders’, but see him as actually being clear that he doesn’t want to be with someone who has to shove a tonne of plastics into her body to subscribe to some insecure Hello!OK!Alright! notion of what beauty is. and the fact that she’s gone running to playboy? well, do you really wanna be with someone who’s rebound lover is a trashy stick mag?
rather than damaging his image, i personally think it’s ‘augmented’ it.
so there.
this makes me stupid, obtuse and naive, but hey. sometimes they’re the basis for a lot of my decisions, so why would this be any different.
Comment by lauren June 18, 2008 @ 8:19 amI think Robert is just being contrary Lauren, I am sure he knows this will enhance Clooney’s image (especially with women) and he’s just jealous. Mind you the guys did come up with MTV’s “I want a famous face” program idea ๐
Comment by Pete June 18, 2008 @ 8:33 ami cant fucking believe you fell for that lauren.
plastic is for toys, not women.
and fuck you pete, jealousy is an ugly trait ๐

It’s easier that way ๐
Comment by Pete June 18, 2008 @ 8:42 amoh. i fell for it. i did think it was a little weird, but hey. oops.
Comment by lauren June 18, 2008 @ 8:48 amand that’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever posted on here andy!
Comment by lauren June 18, 2008 @ 8:49 amOh dear Lauren, you really don’t know me very well do you, ha!
Saying that, I do think it’s abit extreme dumping your girlfriend just because she decided to get breast enhancement when you didn’t want her to have it [though maybe she was going to do ‘things’ with them that he was passionately opposed to] … but then we all have our own weird quirks when it comes to relationships and romance don’t we – and Mr Clooney is hardly the model citizen for living the “for better or worse” sentiment of love, relationships and marriage ๐
Comment by Rob June 18, 2008 @ 9:02 amAndy is not the Andy you read here …
Even having shedloads of money doesn’t get you the wonderful women he’s been involved with over the years. But it helps ๐
Comment by Rob June 18, 2008 @ 9:04 amsticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me, but my fists being repeatedly pummelled into your smug shit ugly face will sure do you some damage. or improvement. prick
im off to drinks with calvin now rob, ill send him your absolute best wishes ๐
Comment by andy@cynic June 18, 2008 @ 9:13 amCome on that wasn’t Andy posting it. Andy, did an intern hijack your keyboard? That’s not you. That’s not the person talking about whores, beans, jerking off on toast and other stuff just 3 posts earlier. Or you’re just an evil bastard…
George Clooney definitely is an evil fuckwit. Whatever he does women will love him. If he dumbs her for getting new boobs they love him for “loving his woman just the way she is”. Now if he stays with her and supports her with her new breasts, women won’t say “that sick bastard just wanted bigger tits” no, women will say “see, he loves his woman and supports in with every decision she makes”.
Women are weird. And George is a prick.
Comment by Seb June 18, 2008 @ 5:15 pmGeorge is a prick?
I hope you’re not saying that about MY George!!!
[If you are, you’re brave because his wife is tough ๐ ]
Comment by Rob June 18, 2008 @ 5:18 pmYour George? Should we leave you two alone for 5 mins?
Comment by Seb June 18, 2008 @ 5:20 pmNo, I am talking about George C.
George Carlin? What’s he ever done to you? ๐
Comment by Rob June 18, 2008 @ 5:27 pmAh this question reminds me of the fact that I am way to young to know George Carlin but thanks to Wikipedia I can follow your elderly people’s conversation.
Comment by Seb June 18, 2008 @ 6:15 pmGeorge Carlin is a genius.
Comment by Rob Mortimer June 18, 2008 @ 8:10 pmOur generation will know him from guest roles in Kevin Smith films, but his comedy is awesome.
george carlin reminds me of george parker.
