Whilst it can’t be denied this is a great marketing opportunity, I can’t help but think Apple have forgotten that it’s a very fine line between being seen as a brand with cred and a brand obsessed with greed.
Maybe their THINK DIFFERENT positioning should be rebadged PRETTY SIMILAR.
You’ve got a bigger challenge on your hands that you first thought eh Baz!

Pingback by Apple » Are Apple Becoming Microsoft? February 20, 2008 @ 8:27 pmthey should have made their own version of the contest via I tunes: worldwide on demand access to great talent available at the spin of the wheel…
shoot, they could have started their own label on itunes and not just blow Idols of the screen, but be the number 1 platform for new talent, be it music, film, art whatever…..
Comment by niko February 20, 2008 @ 8:43 pmtaking in account all the legal issues surrounding apple and music..perhaps I should take my own credo to hart and think before I speak…

Comment by niko February 20, 2008 @ 9:16 pmhaving started working in a PC environment for the first time in 12 years of the workforce, i can categorically say that unless apple does a complete 180 blindside on the design of their OS, shortcuts, comp design (hello! screen shot?) and processes they will never be microsoft – thank god for that.
Comment by lauren February 21, 2008 @ 6:38 amI’m not talking about their software, I’m talking about their attitude towards the consumer and their plethora of products designed to extract as much moolah as possible for ever-decreasing benefits.
Hmmmmn, client limiting move by me there, hahaha!
