Before this post starts, I have a message for my Mum:
Hi Mum, how are you?
Look, I know you hate the photo below – but I love it and as it’s my blog you’ll just have to accept it.
However in the interests of ‘good son’ protocol, I’ve added a picture that I know you will like, a bit further down.
All cool?
Excellent, in that case I will begin …
Today my Mum turns 78.
SEVENTY EIGHT.
That amazes me – especially because if you saw how she lives, thinks, talks and walks, you’d swear she was much younger.
I’ve written many times how wonderful my Mum is … and how much I owe her for everything I’ve experienced and achieved in my life [so far] … but even with all those posts, I’m not giving her nearly as much credit as she deserves.
Seriously, if the World had one ounce of her kindness, consideration, love and encouragement – we’d be living in utopia – and while I’m not going to be with her today, I will be tomorrow and to say I can’t wait is a massive understatement.
Because of this trip, I won’t be writing any more blog posts till mid-next week when I’m back in Amsterdam – where no doubt I’ll be writing complaints about the hotel I’m staying even though I can’t believe it is possible it could be worse than the Pulitzer.
Anyway that’s by the by because today is my Mum’s birthday and it should all be about her … so Mum, if you’re reading this, I want to wish you a very, very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and let you know I love you very, very much and can’t wait to give you a big hug in 24 hours.
Right, now for that photo I promised …

looking good mrs c, more 58 than 78.
hope you have a great day but dont go out on the lash too late with your crew because your boy comes to suck the happiness out of nottingham later in the week and youll need to be on top of your game to handle the carnage hell bring with him.
happy birthday. youre a wonderful woman with the patience of a saint. saint fiorella. got a nice ring to it.
ps) that owl has the same eyes your son has when he spots something he can splurge his cash on. make sure he looks at you that way because you deserve it and hes got tons of it.
Comment by andy@cynic November 3, 2010 @ 6:21 amHappy birthday Mrs C.
Do you like owls because they remind you that you had to have eyes in the back of your head to keep your son under control when he was growing up?
Comment by Billy Whizz November 3, 2010 @ 6:24 amif that was the case billy, surely mrs c favourite animal/bird would be something that required a muzzle and a lead?

Comment by andy@cynic November 3, 2010 @ 6:37 amRelax Andy, the combined might of Mountain View, the Pope and Oprah couldn’t counter your influence of darkness.
Mary is very much looking forward to hearing “her tone” by the way.
Comment by George November 3, 2010 @ 6:50 am1) stop being florence fucking nightingale then.
2) i dont do performances on request and that has fuck all to do with your wife being a tough broad who could stare down osama.
love you mary.

and enjoy amsterdam rob. now that i’ve been there and had best service ever at the youth hostel near volkenpark, i say you got a raw deal. i reckon the dutch are the nicest people ever – especially given all those crap tourists they have to put up with.
Comment by lauren November 3, 2010 @ 7:20 ami was just about to call you a fucking crawler then i saw you give princess campbell (jnr not senior, though she looks more jnr than jnr) a good kicking so all is ok again.

Comment by Map November 3, 2010 @ 8:59 amYou must be the few lucky person who can control Mr Campbell.
mr campbell? mr fucking campbell?
youre either on drugs, new or a crawler of head of account service proportions. pull your fucking self together map. hes campbell, theres no mr in it.
Comment by andy@cynic November 3, 2010 @ 9:08 amare you the “map” he wrote nice things about ages ago?
youve got the compliment so theres no need to be nice anymore.
Comment by andy@cynic November 3, 2010 @ 9:09 amThanks for your support Andy, always nice to know you have my back.
Oh, and for the record, I don’t know why Map [who is the one I celebrated a few months ago] called me “Mister”. Not just because I don’t deserve such a lofty definer, but because the bitch is leaving me/us and so could call me a shit rather than something so nice and respectful.
Comment by Rob November 3, 2010 @ 9:21 amleaving you? shes even smarter than you said she was.
Comment by andy@cynic November 3, 2010 @ 9:24 amHappy birthday Mrs. Campbell! Enjoy the time with your son.
Comment by fredrik sarnblad November 3, 2010 @ 9:22 amthats your attempt at a fucking joke isnt it freddie. enjoy time with campbell? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Comment by andy@cynic November 3, 2010 @ 9:25 amAndy, rarely have I been more sincere. Given you referred to Campbell as your friend earlier, your social life would appear to be anything but buoyant.
Comment by fredrik sarnblad November 3, 2010 @ 10:30 am…judging by your own standards that is.

Fiorella xxx
just think mrs c, your birthday brought down the cred of one of the great agencies. well when they hired your son they did that but you banged down the final nail because thats the most tuneless version of happy birthday ive heard since miley cyrus sang absofuckinglutely everything.
Comment by andy@cynic November 4, 2010 @ 5:58 amhope it rocked by the way.
and absofuckinglutely isnt technically a swear word. still sorry for that. know youll let it pass but your son will whine about it for weeks.
